Skanska has received a contract, valued at Nkr360m ($36.3m) or Skr340m, from the Gjesdal Municipality to build the Gjesdal Health Center in Rogaland County, Norway.

This new 8,700m² facility will feature 76 institutional places and additional facilities, including a café, institutional kitchen, and therapy services.

The development also includes a 2,000m² parking garage and will link to an existing residential and activity centre.

Skanska's LowEx energy concept will be implemented for heating and cooling requirements. The project will seek BREEAM Nor level Excellent certification.

Construction is set to begin in September 2025, with completion expected in June 2027.

The project will be added to the company's Nordic order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.

Engaged in construction and project development, Skanska Group reported revenues of Skr177bn in 2024. The company has a presence in the Nordics, Europe, and the US, with around 26,300 employees.

Last month, Skanska signed a Nkr1.7bn contract with Fornebubanen for the construction of the Skøyen metro station in Oslo. This project includes an underground station with dual tracks and two entry points.

Moreover, Skanska secured contracts in Scandinavia, involving construction and redevelopment.

In Norway, the company will upgrade a water tunnel and build a new 2km access tunnel for Statkraft's Saurdal hydroelectric power plant. In Sweden, Skanska has entered an agreement with Specialfastigheter to construct three new buildings at the Skogome prison in Gothenburg.
