Stock Futures Slip as Tariff Uncertainty Lingers

Stocks looked set to slip over the final trading session of May, with investors still uncertain about whether President Donald Trump will end up getting his way as he bids to reshape global trade.

Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average were down 24 points, or 0.1%. S&P 500 futures slipped 0.1%, and contracts tied to the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 also fell 0.1%.

The three main indexes have rallied this month, with the S&P 500’s 9.2% gain putting the gauge on pace for its best May performance in 35 years. But the market is still struggling to make sense of Trump’s tariffs, and sentiment took a blow on Thursday when a federal appeals court put a ruling that voided the White House’s sweeping levies on hold.
