Stocks Are Struggling Across the Board. Then There’s Alphabet.
Pretty much nothing was working on Wall Street on Wednesday—aside from Alphabet.
The Dow fell 307 points, or 0.7%. The S&P 500 was down 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.3%.
Market breadth was terrible, with only six stocks rising in the Dow. Only 94 S&P 500 stocks were up: Alphabet was the heaviest hitter with a gain of 5.4% that was keeping the communication services sector afloat.
