KPIT Technologies, an automotive software and mobility engineering firm, has inaugurated its new software engineering centre in Sfax, Tunisia.
This move is set to strengthen the company's delivery footprint and accelerate innovation within the mobility ecosystem.
The opening ceremony saw the attendance of senior leaders from the Tunisian automotive sector, investment authorities, universities, and KPIT's leadership.
KPIT Technologies CTO Anup Sablesaid: “Mobility leaders around the world are navigating complex transformations—dynamic trade environment, needing to innovate at speed and scale while substantially saving costs.
"Our new centre in Tunisia will be developed as a centre of excellence to drive innovation in propulsion software, vehicle network development, validation and further expand in other domains. The centre will also become strategic to deliver for European OEMs with location and timezone advantages for agility and scale.”
This initiative not only benefits the local talent pool but also bolsters the prospects for the over 500 KPIT employees already based in Tunisia, enabling them to collaborate closely with OEMs.
For more than two decades, KPIT has been a strategic partner to European mobility OEMs, and will also support OEMs across Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and beyond.
This development further extends KPIT's global delivery network, which includes the US, Germany, France, Japan, China, Thailand, and India.
Tunisia Investment Authority President Namia Ayadisaid: “Tunisia reaffirms its position as a strategic hub for innovation and high-tech expertise, driven by a vibrant investment ecosystem and forward-looking reforms. The establishment of KPIT in Tunisia is a strong testament to this momentum and further strengthens our appeal as a prime destination for cutting-edge technology investments.

KPIT Technologies had also established a new technology centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the objective of driving innovation in the mobility sector.
